Nebraska’s grit will aid in solving state’s economic woes

Nebraska grit helped the pioneers turn the Great American Desert into an agricultural state 150 years ago, and Nebraska grit will help the state through its current financial difficulties.

That was the message Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts brought to Nebraska City Wednesday afternoon. He conducted a press conference at Infinity Air at the Nebraska City Airport as part of his State of the State Fly Around Tour.

NCTC Names Whispering Pines Business Of The Year

Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce will recognize hospitality, summer fun and bricks-and-mortar historians at its annual banquet Jan. 28 at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center.

Whispering Pines Bed & Breakfast will receive honors as the 2016 business of the year. The state tourism commission recently recognized owner Jeanna Stavas as a frontline employee.

Nebraska City Flanked With New Housing Projects

Housing projects came before the Nebraska City City Council Monday regarding tax incentives and tax increment financing.

Tim Juilfs of Ambassador Health and North Star Housing are proposing Nebraska Senior Villas on the north edge of town and Prairie Fire is proposing a 30-unit multi-family complex at Arbor Crossing on the south side of town.
